2018 Candidate Questionnaire

All candidates for office in 2018 are invited to complete our Candidate Questionnaire. Because RainbowPAC is a nonpartisan PAC, these questions will not be scored and ranked. However, candidate responses will be made public and will be used as a basis for an endorsement vote by members of the Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce.

In order to be considered for endorsement for the 2018 Primary Election, please complete Candidate Questionnaire no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Mission Statement

RainbowPAC believes firmly that pro-equality policies improve and strengthen Sacramento’s business climate for workers, business owners, companies and consumers alike. RainbowPAC provides a nonpartisan voice for Sacramento-area LGBT business owners and their allies to participate in the electoral process, and raises public awareness in support of pro-equality and pro-business candidates and ballot legislation that impact the health and sustainability of Sacramento’s LGBT business community.

The purposes of the RainbowPAC are to:
• Promote and strive for the improvement of non-partisan government by encouraging Chamber members and the community to take a more active and effective role in local government affairs.
• Inform Chamber members and the community of the nature of issues affecting the Sacramento LGBT community and business owners and important issues requiring action by local, state and federal government.
• Inform Chamber members and the community of voting records of local office holders and candidates for elected office.
• Solicit and receive information from Chamber members and members of the community regarding important economic and political issues requiring action by Sacramento government officials at all levels of government.
• Solicit and receive contributions to be used to make political campaign expenditures to those candidates for local elective office who have demonstrated understanding and interest of views and goals of the Rainbow Chamber of Commerce.
• Solicit and receive contributions to be used to pay for the distribution of information pertaining to important, community issues and/or to support or oppose local, statewide and federal legislation, candidates for local, statewide and federal office, local governmental actions and/or local ballot measures.
• Assist Chamber members and others in organizing for more effective political actions, and in carrying out their civic responsibilities.
• Support the activities of other organizations supporting the goals of RainbowPAC.

This questionnaire will be made public, and your printed name, signature, and date must be on the bottom of each and every page. Because RainbowPAC is a nonpartisan PAC, these questions will not be scored and ranked. While the form fields will expand as needed, please do not feel limited to the space provided; additional pages of comments are accepted and welcomed.
