For the last 25 years CARES has been the leader for HIV care in Sacramento. We’re proud of that legacy and have no intention of changing our commitment to comprehensive care for people with HIV/AIDS. But with the changes mandated by the Affordable Care Act, we have had no choice but to broaden our scope.
That means that CARES is now Cares Community Health, a comprehensive primary care clinic open to everyone!
Sacramento now has a clinic that understands the issues of gay men and women. You don’t have to hesitate about telling our doctors who you have sex with. You don’t have to hesitate when discussing your partner. We are gay-friendly and proud of it.
What does Cares Community Health offer? Here is a list of our services:
Primary Medical Care
Infectious Disease Care
Psychiatry & Mental Health Counseling
Substance Abuse Treatment
On Site Pharmacy & Laboratory
Community Resource Connection
Referrals to Specialty Care
Free HIV/STD Testing
We take most major insurance plans. If you need help finding care under the Affordable Care Act, we can help with that, too.
We’re conveniently located in Midtown at 1500 21st Street (between O and P Streets).
